Finding joy in the journey:

What I've learned about travel is thanks to my dog.

With teary eyes, I want to tell you the sad news: we had to say goodbye to our dear dog, Henry, this week. He meant the world to my husband and me.

Henry, our little adventurer, had a life full of experiences that could compete with the most seasoned travellers. He tagged along on all our day trips and weekend getaways in Ontario and Quebec. If you've read about my local travels, chances are you've seen his photo or heard his name in my articles.

In 2023, he even joined us when we lived in Berlin. He became the reason we made so many local friends, charming everyone he met.

From the simple joy of daily walks to the grand adventures of travel, Henry showed us how to enjoy every moment.

His tail-wagging enthusiasm reminded us to appreciate the small things. He taught us that the journey is just as important as the destination, and that true connection comes from sharing experiences with those we love. He taught us to wander, to be curious, and to slow down our pace.

As we navigate this heartbreaking goodbye, we hold onto the lessons Henry left us about finding joy in the journey, wherever life takes us.

Travel entry: March 16, 2024 A love letter to Paris How to fall in love with Paris For many, uttering "Paris" immediately conjures images of the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre, defining the city through its iconic monuments and museums.Personally, my love of Paris lies in the subtleties—the street signs, lamp posts, park chairs, and quaint bistro tables spilling onto the streets. I love the first bite of a croissant, the crunch of a baguette, and hearing the noise of the city streets. I find...
